The eight Dog-On-It! games offer fun ways to review beginning
sounds. The first game, designed for children who have completed Stellar
Phonics to Reading: Workbook 2, reviews the beginning sounds of A–F (long
vowels). The next three Dog-On-It! Games review the sounds
learned in Workbooks 3, 4, and 5 (long vowels). A short vowel
version of the games is available below. To play Dog-On-It!,
children roll the die and move their “dogs” to the next picture
that begins with the letter sound rolled. If another child’s “dog” is
already on that spot, the player says, “Dog-on-it!” and begins
again on Start. The first player to get his or her “dog” in the
doghouse wins.
