The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse is one of Aesop’s most endearing fables. In this particular fable, a town mouse and a country mouse decide to trade places with each other, each believing that he will receive the better end of the bargain. However, as soon as they arrive at their new homes, both mice realize that the homes they left behind are the ones where they truly belong. With an emphasis on the need to appreciate what we have and remind us that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence, students learn a valuable lesson.
